TAKOS Getting Started Guide

  • To login to TAKOS, browse to your domain. Example: example.gotak.cloud
  • Default credentials are Username:administrator and password:password
  • When logged in, select the admin, users section to add more users to your serverscreenshot-2025-03-21-15-52-24.png

  • Once your user is created you can now add it to ATAK
  • To add your server to ATAK, open ATAK, tap the hamburger icon(the three line) in the top right.Screenshot_20250321-134139.png

  • Tap the 3 dots in top right corner and select add Screenshot_20250321-135323.png

  • If you have not connected to a server before you will see a quick connect option. Select that and type in your server URL as well as the username and password you just created. Tap connect or ok. After a few seconds it should say TAK server registration succeeded. You are now connected Screenshot_20250324-193011~2.png

iTAK Connection

  • Open iTAK and tap the settings icon IMG_0030.PNG
  • Tap Network IMG_0017.PNG
  • Tap Servers IMG_0018.PNG
  • Tap the plus icon in bottom right IMG_0019.PNG
  • Tap connect with credentials IMG_0020.PNG
  • Enter your server information and tap connect IMG_0021.PNG

TAK AWARE Connection

  • To add your TAKOS server to TAK Aware you will need to go back to the server dashboard
  • login as the user you want to add to TAK Aware
  • Go to data packages and click generate configuration data package screenshot-2025-03-21-15-59-17.png
  • It will make 2 packages. Download the one that says iTAK
  • Transfer it to your IOS device
  • Open TAK Aware and open the hamburger menu IMG_0022.PNG
  • Tap on connect to a TAK Server IMG_0023.PNG
  • Tap Upload a Data Package IMG_0024.PNG
  • Find the configuration package you transferred to your IOS device and select it. It will say data package processed successfully and you are connected

WINTAK Connection

  • Open WinTAK, click the hamburger icon in top left and click settings Screenshot (2).png
  • Click on Network Preferences Screenshot (9).png
  • Click Manage Server Connections Screenshot (3).png
  • Click add itemScreenshot (4).png
  • Fill in server details Screenshot (6).png
  • Click OK and enter your credentials again.
  • When you get the green checkmark you are connected

  • To download the ATAK-Maps data package for online maps go to the data package icon either on the top bar or in the hamburger menu.

  • Tap the box with an arrow, select your server and download the package titled ATAK-Maps.zip
  • After the package is downloaded tap on the trifold map icon to access the different map formats and choose one you like.
  • If you want to host a plugin update server you can login to the TAKOS UI as an administrator, go to admin, plugin updates and add any plugins you have and users can download the plugins directly from your server.
  • Users can then tap on the plugin icon(the puzzle piece) hit the blue refresh button on top, login using their credentials and then access all plugins/plugin updates you have uploaded.
