One voice net, every device
ECHO is GoTAK's native push-to-talk voice for TAK. The same channels reach ATAK, Android, iPhone and iPad, Wear OS watches and TAK_OS Overwatch in the browser, so everyone on the team hears everyone else, whatever they carry. Your TAK OS teams are the channels and every device connects with its own certificate. Free for every TAK OS customer.
Whoever keys, every device on the channel hears it
Sign in once, or scan the event QR.
In ATAK, ECHO uses the TAK connection the device already has, with no separate login. The Android and iOS apps enrol with a TAK OS account or a single event QR code, and each device gets its own certificate.
Your TAK OS teams are the channels.
Every team a device belongs to is a voice room. Tap one to join. ECHO remembers the last channel across restarts and reconnects, so a device comes back on the net it left.
Hold to talk, from anything.
Key from the floating PTT button, the device's own PTT key, a headset button or the watch on your wrist. Everyone in the room hears it, whether they are on ATAK, a phone, an iPad, a watch or Overwatch.
Whatever they carry, they are on the net.
ECHO speaks one protocol everywhere, so an ATAK phone, a standalone Android or iOS device, a watch, a browser and a radio all land in the same voice room and hear each other directly.
ATAK ECHO ATAK Plugin
Push-to-talk inside ATAK over the TAK connection the device already has, so there is no second login and no token stored on the device. A floating PTT button and a volume rocker sit on the map and drag anywhere, and dedicated PTT keys on rugged EUDs key the net directly.
Download the ATAK pluginANDROID ECHO for Android
The full ECHO experience without ATAK. Sign in with a TAK OS account or scan an event QR, pick a channel and talk. A floating PTT button works over any app, a Quick Settings tile and notification keep it one tap away, and each channel has its own text chat.
Download the Android appiOS ECHO for iPhone and iPad
A native iPhone and iPad app on the same channels. It uses Apple's Push to Talk framework, so the channel stays live from the lock screen, with a Live Activity and a Control Center control for keying without opening the app. Enrols with a TAK OS account or an event QR.
WEAR OS PTT from the wrist
The OpenTAK Tracker watch app keys the same ECHO channels from a Wear OS watch, so an operator can talk to the net with the phone still in a pouch.
OpenTAK TrackerTAK_OS Overwatch in the browser
Command and dispatch staff join the same voice rooms from TAK_OS Overwatch in a web browser, alongside the live map, with nothing to install.
About TAK_OSRADIO Bridge a radio net
The Android app can cross-patch a Bluetooth-paired BTECH handheld with the selected channel, so the radio net and the ECHO channel hear each other. Half duplex, voice-operated both ways, with a hard cap on transmit time.

01 CHANNELS Your TAK OS teams are the channels
Every team a device belongs to in TAK OS is a voice room. There is no separate channel plan to build or keep in sync: add someone to a team and they are on that channel.
02 SECURITY Certificate-authenticated, encrypted in transit
Every device connects to TAK OS with its own client certificate over mutual TLS. Voice travels over WebRTC, encrypted in transit, and each join uses a short-lived, room-scoped token issued by the server.
03 SIGN-IN No second login in ATAK
The ATAK plugin uses the device's existing TAK Server connection to request voice access, so there is nothing extra to sign in to and no token kept on the device.
04 EVENTS One QR onboards a whole detail
A TAK OS event QR enrols every phone that scans it for a time-bounded operation, each with its own certificate. Access stops the moment the event ends or an admin revokes it.
05 PTT A PTT button that stays out of the way
Hold to talk, or switch to tap on and tap off. The floating button drags anywhere, changes size for gloved hands and comes in night-safe tints with no blue.
06 HARDWARE Real PTT keys
Dedicated PTT keys on Sonim, Kyocera, Zebra, Crosscall and Samsung XCover devices key ECHO directly. Teach it any other key, or use a Bluetooth headset button or a held volume key.
07 ROSTER See who is on the channel
A live roster shows who is in the room and who is talking, with a per-person local mute and a feed of joins and leaves.
08 RADIO Cross-patch a handheld radio
ECHO for Android bridges a Bluetooth-paired BTECH UV-PRO, GMRS-PRO or VR-N76 into the selected channel, so a radio net and the TAK voice room hear each other.
