Why Base Case
Working away from the desk has meant working small — one laptop screen, or a 13-inch extender clipped to the side of it. Base Case refuses the compromise. It packs ^two 24-inch 4K displays^, a power and I/O hub, and a locking brief case into a case that rolls through the airport, then stands up a ^full command position in under sixty seconds^ on whatever surface you find. ^One USB-C cable^ drives both screens and charges the machine.

Deploy
Pop the latches, swing the screens out, extend the legs, plug in one USB-C cable. No tools, no brackets, no loose monitor stands, no cable spaghetti. Takedown is the same drill in reverse — the whole position packs flat in about a minute.
Displays
Dual 3840 × 2160 panels at 540 nits and 98% DCI-P3 — bright enough to read outdoors under a canopy, accurate enough to grade footage on. Nearly 3× the screen area of the leading portable extenders, and over 4× a laptop alone. Telescoping legs lift them to 4.5″, 7.5″ or 10.5″ so the laptop tucks underneath as a third display.
I/O + power
The trolley handle base is a full I/O hub: USB-C 10G, USB-A 10G, 1Gb Ethernet, dual video inputs, power input and button. One cable to the laptop carries both displays and returns 100W of pass-through charging. No dongle stack, no external hub, no adapters to lose.
Storage
The patented brief case detaches at the press of a single button and locks with a combination. Laptop, Starlink Mini, radios, cables, accessories — the gear that travels with the position travels inside it, and you keep your carry-on allowance.
Transport
A hard-shell chassis on quiet Hinomoto wheels with a three-stage trolley handle, sized to carry-on dimensions on most US airlines. Wheel it from the terminal to the truck to the incident and set it down where the work is.

Yes. Base Case drives both displays from a MacBook on Apple silicon — M1, M2, M3 and M4 — through the DisplayLink Manager app. It is a one-time install of about two minutes. Windows PCs use the DisplayLink driver the same way.
Under a minute. Open the case, swing the displays out, extend the telescoping legs to one of three heights, and plug a single USB-C cable into your machine. Takedown is the same in reverse.
Yes — the case is 22.75″ × 14″ × 5″ and falls within carry-on dimensions on most US airlines. Base Case is not a ruggedized product in its current form, so we recommend carrying it on rather than checking it.
No internal battery. It runs from wall power, and third-party portable power stations will run it for several hours — budget roughly 180W per hour with a laptop attached and charging.
Yes. There are two video inputs, one per display. Drive both screens from a single machine with two video cables, or give each screen its own machine.
