Works when
the network doesn't.
Every other address tool fails without connectivity. Address Plugin downloads the entire region database to local storage before deployment — and queries it first, every time. The network becomes optional.
Pre-deploy with your region databases stored on-device. Virginia ~30MB. California ~100MB. Germany ~400MB. All 50 US states, 100+ countries — downloaded before you leave the wire and available with zero network dependency for the entire operation.
FTS5 full-text search returns address results in milliseconds. R*Tree spatial indexing handles POI radius queries without touching the network. Online fallback activates only when local data is insufficient — and can be disabled entirely for full radio silence.
Foreign country. Degraded comms. No friendly infrastructure. A tool that requires constant connectivity isn't an option — it's a liability. Address Plugin is the option that works when the network doesn't.
Find it without knowing
how to spell it.
Operators don't have time to look up exact addresses. They type what they know — a partial name, a category, a plain-language query — and expect results. Address Plugin's search engine works the way a human thinks.
Photon geocoder (primary) handles misspellings, abbreviations, and partial names. Nominatim (secondary) provides authoritative fallback. Local FTS5 (offline) handles degraded connectivity. You get results regardless of how the query was entered.
'Gas stations near me.' 'Hospitals in Virginia.' 'Walmart Texas.' The plugin interprets category names, geographic filters, and proximity from plain language — not just street addresses. Operators search the way they think.
Results automatically bias toward your GPS position or map center. 10 recent searches saved. 4-thread parallel queries across state databases. 50-entry LRU cache for instant repeated lookups.
Any AO.
Any network condition.
Address Plugin is not built for one mission type — it's built for any operator who needs to know where they are, what's around them, and how to share that with the team. Offline when you need it. Online when you have it.
01 · TACTICAL OPERATIONS
The team pre-downloads the region database before departure. In the target city — no friendly infrastructure, intermittent comms, foreign SIM — every address search returns in milliseconds from local storage. Building numbers, hospital locations, fuel points. The database that was invisible before the mission makes the difference during it.
02 · INTERNATIONAL OPERATIONS
Three hours before the flight, the team downloads three regional databases. On the ground in an unfamiliar country, the Where Am I widget shows the current street address. Hospital locations, government buildings, fuel points — all available without a local SIM, without a VPN, without corporate IT.
03 · VEHICLE OPERATIONS
Each vehicle broadcasts CoT position. Address Plugin reverse-geocodes in real time — so when a vehicle stops, command sees a street address in the sidebar, not a coordinate pair. Checkpoints get named. Incidents get documented with location context that means something.
04 · DISASTER RESPONSE
In the first hours after an event, networks saturate or go dark. Teams pre-deploy with databases loaded. One radius query shows every hospital, pharmacy, and fuel point within 20km. Every result placed as a marker, broadcast to every responder — without a single API call leaving the device.
ATAK without it.
ATAK with it.
Stock ATAK gives you a map and a coordinate pair. Address Plugin gives you location intelligence — addresses, infrastructure, context, and team-shared markers that work whether the network is up or not.
Coordinate entry only. Know the lat/lon or know nothing.
Full geocoding — typo-tolerant, natural language, offline or online. No lat/lon required.
Address search and POI discovery are unavailable when the network drops. Black map.
Download region databases once. Full search, POI discovery, and reverse geocoding with zero network dependency.
'37.7749° N, 122.4194° W.' Coordinates that tell you nothing without a reference map.
'You are at 245 Market Street, San Francisco.' Displayed above your callsign. Updates automatically.
Not natively available. Operators rely on prior knowledge and paper maps.
45+ categories — hospitals, airports, fuel, embassies, infrastructure — from position or any map center.
No native camera bookmark system. Observation points exist only in memory and written notes.
Save 50 exact views — zoom, tilt, heading, thumbnail. One tap restores. Unique to Address Plugin.
Third-party location tools typically require API keys, accounts, and per-use billing.
No API keys. No auth. No subscriptions. No corporate dependency. Download, install, operate.
Works online. Works offline. Works when it matters.

Yes — fully. Download region databases once and address search, POI discovery, and reverse geocoding all operate with zero network dependency. FTS5 full-text search returns results in milliseconds. An offline-only mode disables all network requests entirely for full radio silence operations.
No. Address Plugin uses public open-source APIs — Photon (Komoot) and Nominatim (OpenStreetMap) — that require no keys, no accounts, and no per-use billing. Offline databases are community-maintained OpenStreetMap data. No corporate dependency, no authentication, no ongoing cost beyond the plugin itself.
'Hospitals in Virginia' returns hospitals statewide. 'Gas stations near me' queries from your GPS position. 'Walmart Texas' finds Walmart locations across the state. Typo tolerance is built in — 'ft belvior' resolves to 'Fort Belvoir'. Abbreviations and partial names work. The plugin interprets context and geography from plain-language input.
Camera bookmarks let you save up to 50 exact map vantage points — capturing position, zoom, 3D altitude, camera tilt, heading, 2D/3D mode, reverse-geocoded address, and a JPEG thumbnail. Tap any saved view to instantly restore the exact camera perspective. Unique to Address Plugin — no other ATAK plugin offers this capability.
From within ATAK preferences, open the Address Plugin settings panel. The database manager shows available regions — all 50 US states and 100+ countries — with file sizes and download status. Tap any region to download. Databases install automatically and activate immediately. Virginia ~30MB. California ~100MB. Germany ~400MB.
Location intelligence
that doesn't fail.
Offline when you need it. Online when you have it. No API keys. No licensing. No setup. Download, install, and every operator on the team has full location intelligence in ATAK — addresses, infrastructure, navigation, and shared markers — everywhere they operate.
