Installation

The Vehicle Tracker is a simple device to install, designed for anyone with basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.

Tools

• Long Nose Pliers
• Wire cutters or strippers
• Screwdrivers
• Multi‑meter / Tester
• Spanners
• Cable ties
• Insulation tape

Finding the fuse box

Every vehicle has at least one fuse box—typically one under the dashboard and another in the engine bay.

1. Check your owner’s manual to locate fuse boxes (usually under the dash or hood).
2. Primary fuse box: under the hood, usually black and clearly marked.
3. Secondary fuse box: under the dashboard near the steering wheel.

ℹ️ Info: Fuses power vehicle electronics such as windows, locks, lights, and radio.

Fitting the tracker

Step 1: Prep wires

The VT3 wires come with removable insulation ends. Strip more insulation as needed with wire cutters.

Step 2: Access fuse box

Open/remove the cover on the secondary fuse box.

Step 3: Identify the fuses

Using a tester, identify:

• Direct fuse: shows current with ignition off.
• Ignition fuse: shows current only with ignition on.

ℹ️ Info: Use low-current fuses (5–15 A).

Step 4: Connect to direct current

1. Remove the “direct” fuse with pliers.
2. Attach the red wire to one fuse leg.
3. Test both legs to find the live side, then reinsert fuse so red wire is on the non-powered side.

Step 5: Connect to ignition current

1. Remove the “ignition” fuse with pliers.
2. Attach the yellow wire to one fuse leg.
3. Test to find which leg is live only when ignition is on. Reinsert accordingly.

Step 6: Connect to earth

Attach the black wire to a grounded metal part using a screw.

Step 7: Connect the tracker

Plug in the 3‑pin connector, ensuring proper alignment.

⚠️ Warning: Ensure correct orientation before pushing in.

Step 8: Check functionality

Before mounting, verify that the tracker battery is charging (blue light visible). Press the button to confirm LEDs light up.

Step 9: Secure the tracker

1. Bundle and secure cables with cable ties and tape.
2. Mount the tracker where it has clear sky visibility (avoid metal obstructions like windscreen metal).
3. ⚠️ Warning: Metal can obstruct the tracker.
4. Ensure no excessive vibrations or movement once installed.
