From RF activity
to a closer look.

Scan, investigate, and share with your team.
Across your ATAK network.

The investigation workflow

Follow the signal.
Share the picture.

01 / Scan

See activity across the bands.

A spectrum trace and waterfall show received activity over time. Sweep a range, then focus on the frequencies that need a closer look.

02 / Capture

Let the local model choose a candidate.

The recorded workflow shows the model selecting signals for investigation and making five-second I/Q captures for closer analysis.

03 / Review

Build a record of what you found.

Review captures and automatically catalog frequency observations. Revisit the evidence as your understanding of the RF environment develops.

01 / Spectrum

Start with
the whole picture.

See received activity across the spectrum, then focus your investigation. The local model can select candidates for a closer look.

02 / Waterfall

See activity
over time.

Frequency runs across the display. Each new row adds received activity to the history below it. This screenshot shows a 1.024 MHz window centered at 424.786 MHz, captured with the USB HackRF.

03 / I/Q captures

Keep the signal
for a closer look.

The recorded workflow makes five-second I/Q captures for analysis. Review saved captures and retain the evidence behind each investigation.

04 / Signal catalog

A finding is the
start of a question.

Keep observations organized by frequency and review the supporting captures. A catalog entry records activity; it does not establish a unique transmitter identity.

The recorded analysis returns Unknown / inconclusive and recommends narrowing the capture. That result stays visible, alongside the measurements that informed it.

05 / Team

Your findings.
Your team’s picture.

RF investigation is a team capability. Share what you find across the ATAK network and visualize your teammates’ SDR activity on your own screen.

Share findings

Keep the team informed.

Share findings with teammates across your ATAK network so the signals you investigate become part of the team’s shared picture.

View teammates’ SDRs

See beyond your own receiver.

Visualize a teammate’s SDR on your screen. See what their receiver is observing alongside your own investigation, wherever you are working on the ATAK network.

Receiver support

Bring the receiver
your work requires.

SPECTRUM supports HackRF and RTL-SDR. Frequency coverage and reception capabilities depend on the connected hardware.

HackRF
The demo uses a physical USB HackRF and shows a 1–6000 MHz sweep. Coverage up to 6 GHz applies to HackRF.
RTL-SDR
Supported by the application. Coverage depends on the receiver and tuner; the 6 GHz range shown here does not apply to RTL-SDR. It is not demonstrated in this recording.
Local assistance
The investigation workflow uses a local model. Analysis is tentative and may require a narrower capture or further review.
What do these app views demonstrate?

A real sweep, model-selected candidates, five-second I/Q recordings, a waterfall, tentative analysis, and an automatic frequency catalog. The eight-second hero is a motion-graphics preview using real app footage; the screenshots below show individual views.

Does it identify or locate transmitters?

This recording does not establish confirmed protocol or transmitter identification. It does not demonstrate transmitter geolocation or map-marker tagging. Frequency buckets are observations, not unique transmitter identities.
