Compliance is the question that shows up in almost every agency conversation, usually alongside country of origin, lead time, and tariffs. This article answers it once, and tells you exactly what to ask for so your contracting officer gets a package they can act on.
The short answer
GoTAK devices are NDAA Section 889 compliant — no chips, modems, or components from banned vendors.
Beyond that:
- TAA-compliant configurations are available for federal procurement.
- GSA-eligible kits are available.
- EAR-99-classified hardware is used where required.
- Made-in-USA components are prioritised, and ITAR licensing is handled per deployment.
- Documentation packs for contracting officers are available on request.

Checking compliance for a specific product
Compliance is a per-product property, not a blanket claim. Each product page displays its own compliance marks — NDAA, TAA, CMMC, ITAR, GSA, FIPS — drawn directly from that product's record. Check the product page for the item you intend to buy rather than assuming a family-wide answer.
Two examples from the antenna range, to show that the marks are specific rather than boilerplate:
- The 2.4 / 5.8 GHz Wi-Fi Gooseneck is NDAA and TAA compliant.
- The 900 MHz Mesh Gooseneck is NDAA compliant.
- The Dual-Band Maximus is made in the USA.
If the mark you need is not shown on the product page, ask before you build it into a solicitation response — do not infer it.
What the terms mean
NDAA Section 889 prohibits federal agencies from procuring covered telecommunications and video-surveillance equipment from specified Chinese vendors. This is the one most agency buyers are checking for.
TAA (Trade Agreements Act) governs country of origin for goods sold under GSA schedules and many federal contracts, restricting acquisition to the US and designated countries. TAA-compliant configurations are available — note that "TAA-compliant configuration" means the specific build matters, so confirm it against your actual line items.
EAR-99 is an Export Administration Regulations classification for items that are subject to the EAR but not listed on the Commerce Control List — generally the least restrictive category, though licence requirements can still apply to certain destinations and end users.
ITAR covers defence articles and services. ITAR licensing is handled per deployment rather than as a standing product attribute.
CMMC is the DoD's Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification for contractors handling federal contract information and CUI.

Export control applies to international orders. Certain products, software, and technical data are subject to U.S. export controls including the EAR and, where applicable, the ITAR, and cannot be shipped to certain countries, entities, or individuals. We may decline or cancel any order that cannot be fulfilled in compliance with export-control and sanctions law.
