CivTAK 2025 Recap: Back from D.C. and Back to Building
CivTAK 2025 in Washington, D.C. is officially a wrap—and what a way to close out the year’s event season.
At this year’s conference, GoTAK took the stage to present our T-Satellite ATAK Plugin with a focus on real-world public safety operations. During the talk, we walked through how our software-based SATCOM link leverages T-Mobile’s Direct-to-Cell Starlink connectivity, enabling resilient beyond-line-of-sight communications without specialized satellite hardware. For public safety teams operating in austere or disaster environments, this represents a major shift in accessibility and deployment speed.
Live Demos Across the GoTAK Ecosystem
In addition to the talk, we ran live demonstrations of a wide range of GoTAK capabilities, including:
- Counter-UAS (cUAS) and drone detection workflows
- Standalone tracking devices
- PACE-in-a-Case communications using Global Link
- Search and Rescue radio relay operations with our BTECH ATAK plugin
Debuting the KAONIC 1S OEM Board
CivTAK also marked the debut of the Beechat Network Systems KAONIC 1S OEM Board, now integrated into ATAK workflows. This board enables ATAK communications and sensor fusion over the Reticulum protocol, opening the door to highly resilient, decentralized networking architectures.
If Reticulum isn’t on your radar yet, now is the time to get familiar. Its store-and-forward, infrastructure-agnostic design aligns perfectly with the direction of modern tactical and public safety communications.
What’s Next
With event season behind us, the focus shifts back to where we thrive most: the lab. We’re entering full development mode—refining existing capabilities, building new integrations, and continuing to push the needle forward across the GoTAK ecosystem.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by, asked hard questions, and shared insights at CivTAK 2025. Stay tuned—there’s a lot more coming.
