Comms. The first question we get from our clients is "does the DMR or DMR Pro work with our existing comms setup?"
The answer is almost always yes. We have spent a lot of time integrating different setups with our EUD lineup. For example, we have several Bluetooth plugins that work with BLE PTT rings, Bluetooth hand mics, etc.
But everyone knows wired is better than Bluetooth, so we went looking for a "silver bullet" solution. All of our EUDs have an integrated 3.5mm jack or come with a USB C adapter (DMR) and this is where the universal PTT comes in. Finally you can connect your existing setup over 3.5mm and have a PTT button that triggers the integrated radio app down/up on push and release as intended.
This can make even generic off the shelf earbuds or your expensive brand name setup use PTT and be compatible with all of our EUDs including the GoTAK DMR and the GoTAK DMR Pro for simplified ease of use with the radio functionality. It can be also be used with other PoC apps such as Zello, Mumble, ESchat, etc.
Plugins are pre-loaded on all of our devices and we developed a over-the-air (OTA) plugin update system that let's you pick and choose what comm setup you're using and download the correct plugin for that. When an update is pushed or new plugins are added, simply open the app and download what you need to operate.
The universal PTT adapter can take any set of headphones or comms that connect over 3.5mm and adds a discreet PTT button that can be attached to your clothing or hidden in your pocket for a more covert setup. Connect to our EUDs with the integrated 3.5mm port or with our USB C to 3.5mm adapter included with the GoTAK DMR.
We are also finalizing a strategic partnership with Klein Electronics to provide you plug & play PoC audio solutions that connect overt 3.5mm or USB C to the EUDs with a plugin already in place to handle PTT.
